Memory
Memory supports context continuity in the same session and long-term memory for the Agentic assistant. Per current product capability, long-term memory is supported only for the Agentic assistant; other agents do not support it yet. For multi-turn writing on the model side, see Conversation and context.
Assistant long-term memory
When to use: Keep user-authorized, long-lived preferences or profile information.
Path: Agentic assistant → clearly state what may be remembered; or use the memory management entry in the current version.
- Provide only authorized, long-term value—language preference, usual format, or work role.
- Do not store passwords, tokens, ID numbers, or customer confidential information.
- In a later new session, check whether the assistant uses the preference in the right situations.
- To correct or remove an item, edit or delete it in memory management.
Done when: the assistant uses the preference in appropriate situations, and you can manage or delete memories.
Session memory
When to use: Carry background, materials, and context across turns in the same conversation.
Path: Any chat → keep asking in the same session; start a new conversation when you switch topics.
- In the first turn, provide background, materials, goal, and constraints.
- Follow up from that context and check that the assistant cites the key facts correctly.
- Click New conversation when you switch to an unrelated topic or need to isolate context.
- Use History to review earlier messages.
Done when: the same session carries prior context, and a new session does not inherit temporary context.
